How to reach the city of Parma.

By plane

From Parma Giuseppe Verdi Airport:

1. The center can be easily reached by taxi or by bus number 6 (5 km).

From Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport:

1. Aerobus from the Airport to Bologna central train station. The bus is every 11 minutes. Journey time: about 30 minutes. 

2. Regional trains from Bologna central train station to Parma every 30 minutes. Journey time: about 1 hour. 

From Milan Malpensa Airport:

1. Train Malpensa Express or Bus Malpensashuttle from the Airport to Milan central train station. The train or the bus are every 30 minutes. Journey time: about 50/60 minutes. 

2. Regional (fast) trains from Milano central train station to Parma every 60 minutes. Journey time: about 1 hour and 30 minutes (1 hour and 10 minutes with fast trains).  

From Milan Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport:

1. Orioshuttle from the Airport to Milan central train station. The bus is every 30 minutes. Journey time: about 50 minutes. 

2. Regional (fast) trains from Milano central train station to Parma every 60 minutes. Journey time: about 1 hour and 30 minutes (1 hour and 10 minutes with fast trains).  

From Milan Linate Airport:

1.  Airport Bus Express from the Airport to Milan Lambrate train station. The bus is every 30 minutes. Journey time: about 15 minutes. 

2. Regional trains from Milan Lambrate train station to Parma every 60 minutes. Journey time: about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

 

By train

The Railway Station of Parma is in the North of the city, 10 minutes walking to the city center. The station links up the city to the main national railway lines. Parma is linked with many regional and high speed trains to Bologna and Milan, which are the main exchange stations to reach the other Italian cities and also to the main Airports.

By car

  • with the highway A1 Milano – Bologna (tollgate Parma) and A15 Parma – La Spezia (tollgate Parma Ovest);
  • with main roads such as la Via Emilia, Via Mantova, Via La Spezia e Via Cremonese, Via Colorno, Via Langhirano, Via Traversetolo;
  • with the ring road, wich turns all around the city and links the various areas of Parma to the main roads and the highway.

The historical center of Parma is a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) controlled by cameras working every day, included festivities. During the day the access to the center is allowed only to resedents or to foreigners who have to reach the Hotel. The regutations on Limited Traffic Zones and parkings in town is also applied for cars with foreigner plates.

All around the Limited Traffic Zone there are many covered parkings and reach easily the center walking few minutes. In some areas close to the city center there are streets with parking place signed with blue lines nearby the blue lines are located the parking meters working with coins. Prices changes depending on the different areas.

Located at the access points of the town there are the exchange car parks, free and open 24 hours a day, are the right places to leave your car and reach the city centre by shuttle bus. Driving away from the city center is possible to find free parking areas to leave the car.
